Update on our Big boy H & his very soon ‘official’ adoption!
Yesterday, our Big boy H’s case worker called me and said that it looks like TPR (terminating parental rights) has already gone through with the judge. In fact, it happened this past August 28th (almost 3 months ago)! What!? She said somehow she was not informed that his case went forward and that now it should be on the ‘fast-track’ towards adoption! She is coming over this afternoon to see our Big Boy H and hopefully will have more details or a time-line! Our prayer has been that adoption could happen by the end of this year and Lord willing, it actually may happen next month!
I cannot tell you how stinkin’ exciting this is to us and to all who love this Big boy H! He is a gift. When we first met him in the hospital when he was 5 -weeks old, the nurse said it was so good that we wanted to foster him. All I could say with tears in my eyes after first seeing him was that it was truly a ‘privilege’ to get the joy of taking him to our home and get to specifically love him. At that point, we were not sure the outcome of his case. All we knew was that we were called to love him as much as possible as he was called to be in our home and be a part of our family as long as the Lord would ordain.
And now, almost 2 years later this precious boy that we have grown to love more and more may actually become a Gronotte. What mercy from our kind God! With so much sorrow surrounding my husband’s brain cancer and all the side of affects he is facing with chemo & aftermath of radiation & remaining troubles, the Lord is shining light by answering this long lasting prayer request of making this Big boy H-our son. By God’s grace, every day we are getting to see the picture of adoption unfold as I think upon this little boy’s story. Which points to The Greater story that I too am being grafted into adoption by the mercy of God through His Son, Jesus! Adoption is the story of every Believer. And now, the Lord is letting me see it up close and by His grace making it happen in our family!
This friends is clear evidence of answered prayer. Praise the LORD! My little faith needed to see this! The Lord loves answering prayers. Oh for my heart to keep praying and knocking at the mercy seat of Jesus!
When we have an official court date, I will update this and we will have a big celebration to come! All are invited!
